Rotating Equipment Engineer

Position description

The rotating equipment engineer defines and specifies rotating components and will be part of the mechanical engineering team.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Define and specify the main gearbox
• Define and specify the main shaft bearings
• Define and specify yaw system, gearbox and bearing
• Define and specify pitch system, gearbox and bearing
• Define and specify low speed shaft coupling and high speed shaft coupling
• Manage manufacturing and testing phases
• Cooperate with manufacturing, suppliers and certification organisation

Education

• Degree (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering or in a closely related discipline

Working experience

• Experience in design of bearings, gearboxes and couplings
• Experience in contacting/qualifying suppliers
• 10+ Years of relevant working experience
• Preferably experience in the wind industry

Personal skills

• The candidate must have good organizational and communication skills and must be able to work within an international, multi-disciplinary team of engineers
• Self-starter and pro-active problem solver

Language skills

• The candidate must have a good command of business English, written and spoken
• Command of German language is beneficial
